Launch of the Paris-Toronto series !!! [fr]
The Consulate general of France in Toronto is pleased to announce the launch of Paris-Toronto, an unprecedented ten-month series highlighting contemporary art from France.
This series assembles numerous events taking place across the city from March to December 2013 to expose Toronto audiences—professionals and the general public alike—to Paris’ diverse and vibrant art scene.
Coordinated by the Consulate General of France in Toronto with support from the Institut français, Paris-Toronto aims to foster collaborations between France’s capital and the thriving visual art scene of Canada’s largest city.
These artistic residency programs, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and public lectures, are all organized by well-established Toronto institutions : the Art Gallery of Ontario, Art Metropole, Canadian Art Foundation, City of Toronto (Nuit blanche), Elegoa Cultural Productions, the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, The Power Plant, the Ryerson Image Centre, and Vtape. Each event creates opportunities for interaction between artists, curators, scholars, critics, and audiences from the two cities.
