In Toronto for the release of her book “Ethical Consumption” published in English translation by the Canadian company Fernwood Publishing, French sociologist Sophie Dubuisson-Quellier will give a public talk at York University’s Department of Sociology on Thursday, November 21 at 2:30 pm. She will present her book and explain how, from her point of view, ethical consumption can create a space for the construction of social responsibility.
Biography of Sophie Dubuisson-Quellier
Sophie Dubuisson-Quellier teaches Sociology of Markets and Economic sociology at Sciences Po (Paris, France) and is currently senior fellow at the CNRS. She has been working in economic sociology, analyzing the way firms, social movements and states are framing consumers’ political and market skills. She is currently leading several research projects on consumption and the contentiousness of markets.
