French Lieutenant-General Hervé Gobilliard, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour and President of the Legion of Honour Society, will be in Toronto on November 4–6.

On this occasion, he will bestow the Legion of Honour upon twelve Canadian WWII veterans to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will attend the official ceremony.

The prestigious Légion d’Honneur is France’s highest distinction. The Legion of Honour was established by Napoleon, for excellent civilian or military conduct, in 1802.
