Year-end meeting of the Legion of Honour Members Association (Toronto’s section) [fr]

The association organized its traditional year-end lunch on December 7 to discuss past and upcoming projects.

With the participation of Consul General Mr. Marc Trouyet and Deputy Consul Mrs. Anne Takennit-Coat, the President of the Association M. Jacques Gauthier and several members met to discuss recent achievements and upcoming objectives for 2017.

The events that mark the centenary of the First World War and the remembrance of the XXth century conflicts will remain at the core of the association’s priorities, in a bid to reinforce the link between generations and to promote relationships between Canada and France.

This meeting also allowed Mr. Jean-Gabriel Castel, Knight of the Legion of Honour and Officer of the National Order of Merit, to share personal memories and retrace his action as a resistant during the Second World War, his contributions to support Franco-Ontarian and franco-Manitoban veterans, his major works in the field of international private law, and his numerous trips around the world to teach and share his knowledge.
