The Order of Academic Palms awarded to Sima Farsandaj [fr]

A ceremony took place at the Residence of the Consul General on June 28 2017

The Consul General of France Marc Trouyet awarded on June 28 2017 the Order of Academic Palms to Sima Farsandaj in a ceremony attended by the Honourable Reza Moridi, Minister of Research, Innovation and Science, the Honourable Ali Ehsassi, MPP of North York and Amrita Daniere, Dean of the University of Toronto Mississauga.

Ms Farsandaj, who has been teaching French for over 30 years including 19 at University of Toronto, has been a relentless promoter of France and Francophonie throughout her career. She has been collaborating with the Consulate for over 6 years and has worked with CampusFrance on strenghtening exchanges between French and Canadian universities thoroughout students exchanges in particular.

This Ceremony, hosted at the Consular Residence, was marked by Persian culture (Iran is where Ms Farsandaj originally comes from) thanks not only to the presence of leaders of the Iranian community but also to the traditional music performed by an Iranian musician.
