French National Holiday celebration in Toronto [fr]
On the occasion of the French National Holiday, the Consul General of France in Toronto Mr. Marc Trouyet and Ms. Corinne Cayez hosted French citizens, Francophones and Francophiles on Friday July 14 2017. Representatives from organizations working with the Consulate on a regular basis, volunteers who helped with the French elections as well as members of the French community took part in this reception at the Manor of the Glendon Hall.
During the event, a tribute was paid to the victims of the tragic terrorist attack that occurred in Nice on July 14 2016. The Consul General also talked about the priorities of French Diplomacy as well as the main objectives of the coming months. He emphasized three key projects: the fight against climate change, following the Paris Agreement; the strengthening of the France-Canada relation in innovation, culture, trade, business and university exchanges; and the constant improvement of the services provided to the French Community.
For their contribution to this event, the Consulate General of France warmly thanks its generous partners and donors: La Bastille Boulangerie et Pâtisserie, Bonne Maman, La Bréhandaise Catering, Glendon College, Grand Marnier, Kū-kŭm Restaurant, and Le Roy René.
A flag raising ceremony at the Toronto City Hall took place before the reception.
