924.The French Ministry of Europe & Foreign Affairs and MaRS Discovery District sign an agreement on innovation [fr]
The letter of intent was signed on October 31st in Toronto, in presence of French Minister of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne
Through this agreement, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and MaRS Discovery District (the largest urban incubator in the world) will work towards the strengthening of French and Canadian relations in the field of innovation.
As of 2018, an international technical expert will be hired by Expertise France and based in MaRS. The work of this expert will primarily focus on the international development of competitiveness clusters. He will aim at supporting French and Canadian innovative small and medium-sized companies interested in developing technological partnerships and exploring both markets.
The letter of intent was signed by the Ambassador of France to Canada Kareen Rispal and by Salim Teja, President of MaRS Venture Services. French Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne and French Member of Parliament Jacques Maire attended the ceremony.
