The Women’s Forum took place on May 11 - 12 2018
The Women’s Forum is a series of conferences and meetings which goal is to promote representativity of women and gender parity in domains of influence that took place this year in Toronto. Invited by the Forum for her years long involvment in gender parity and women’s rights, the Ambassador was part of a panel on links between free trade, protectionism and gender equality.
She emphasized that the recent international trade agreements included progressist ideas, without necessarily taking into account women’s rights in a completely satisfactory manner.
She also talked about the necessity to associates these trade agreements with more stringent commitments, referring to the conventions of the International Labour Organization as well as the commitment by civil society. She also congratulated the Canadian presidency of G7 for making gender equality a priority and mentioned that France will keep this commitment during the Franch presidency of 2019.
