We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Éric Ghia as Honorary Consul of France in Winnipeg, on the proposal of the French Government. This appointment was validated by the Canadian Office of Protocol on June 28, 2018 for a period of 5 years. Mr. Ghia, a French national, has the full powers of his predecessor Bruno Burnichon.

A Professor and Researcher in Immunology and Gastroenterology at the University of Manitoba, Jean-Éric Ghia regularly speaks on CBC Radio to explain the latest scientific findings to the Manitoban public.

Holder of a PhD in Neuroscience at Strasbourg University in France, Jean-Éric Ghia continued his studies at McMaster University in Hamilton. He is a specialist in inflammatory bowel diseases.
